3 Italia offers free mobile TV content
7 June, 2008 - 15:49In what is becoming a growing trend in the mobile TV market in Europe, Mobile operator 3 Italia is giving its customers free access to a bouquet of mobile TV channels.
3 Italia is proposing to offer its users of its DVB-H clients free access to the channels RAI 1, RAI 2, Mediaset, Sky Meteo 24 and Current TV, as well as its new in-house channel La3.
In what is another interesting move and indicative of a cross-platform content strategy, 3 Italia is also offering new customers free internet access, up to 50 MB per day. The company's new cross-media strategy is aimed at promoting new data services, it announced at a press conference.
La3 will broadcast from 08:00 to 24:00 daily, showing a range of sports, music and entertainment programming. 3 also introduced the new Samsung F510 handset for TV viewing, in addition to the LG HB620, Momedesign MD5, Garmin 900T and the Onda DH502HS USB device for watching on a PC.
